About Janet
A Southern California native, Robin’s musical education began the moment she met her guitar teacher, Randy Rhoads (Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne). Under Rhoads’ tutelage, Robin became an ace six-string player and, while still in high school, parlayed this education into a position as the lead guitarist for the all-female rock band Precious Metal. Discovered by Rodney Bingenheimer of the legendary L.A. rock radio station KROQ, Precious Metal was soon signed to Polygram Records. Later moving to Chameleon/Capitol Records, Precious Metal released several albums, wrote with Heart, Poison and Cheap Trick, toured extensively and gained accolades from both fans and critics alike.

The String Revolution
anet’s other project, The String Revolution, is a collective of exceptional guitarists who come together as a band to explore the instrument in bold and unconventional ways. By pushing the guitar beyond traditional roles, the group creates richly layered arrangements that are both inventive and emotionally resonant.
Inspired by her mentor and former bandleader Lindsey Buckingham, Janet envisioned a project that would bring multiple guitar voices together to experiment with new approaches to arrangement and fully realize the expressive potential of the instrument. The result has been striking. The String Revolution earned a Grammy® Award for their distinctive interpretation of “Folsom Prison Blues,” cementing the group’s place as a forward-thinking force in instrumental music.
